Be shared Famous Blue Raincoat - Leonard Cohen this morning, noticed the lyrics:

Ah, the last time we saw you you looked so much older
Your famous blue raincoat was torn at the shoulder
You’d been to the station to meet every train, and
You came home without Lili Marlene

I suddenly related the meaning of the word “torn” in another song: Torn - Natalie Imbruglia, then I noticed Stoned - Dido in an article put together with Famous Blue Raincoat, it’s quite amazing that Stoned is from one of my favorite albums Life for Rent - Dido, but I only remember the melody and lyrics but not the name of this song

Music is the key to Steve Jobs at the beginning of Apple, definitely there are some reasons underpin the decision of Steve Jobs, and these same reasons maybe also would be the door key to web5

I like remote work, even when I was working in an office many years ago, at that time, I would sneak out to a coffee shop and work for hours. Remote work would be more relaxing, I can combine working with any personal staff, so more work-life balance and more efficient

Remote work is synchronization, office work is synchronization, huge difference between them, so remote work need stronger self-driven and goal-orientation, all training for employee(and manager) should force on self-driven and goal-orientation

self-driven: Agree to the goal of the organization, enjoy challenges and strong responsibility

goal-orientation: Accept OKR

engineer-culture: Prefer sharing more than reporting

In a remote work organization, I think the right ppl are way more important than the right arrangement, and to an organization really good at remote work, then they definitely deserve that much freedom

Who are the top-level engineers right now? I would say three: Demis Hassabis, Elon Musk and Vitalik Buterin(Dev). These three guys are so strong, maybe the next 20 years will be defined by them and several others

This Dev team was different from the engineers decades ago(such as Bill Gates), they are engineer background but not just engineers, they utilized a much healthy business model to create a huge team and engineer culture to push the business to focus on technology fields for a very long time, technology is everything to their business model

Some common points among them: 1) English native speaker 2) all from democratic country countries 3) enjoy talking about technology details

Engineers are controlling the world: Microsoft, Google, Apple, Amazon, Tesla, SpaceX, Starlink, Deepmind and etc. They are so strong and unbeatable, and will slowly control businesses, education, politics, and every part of human lives

A company focus on top-level engineers seems like a good direction:

  1. Headhunter. All tech companies need good engineers
  2. Consulting. Help engineer teams improve management and performance
  3. Research. Publish research results from the engineers’ angle is valuable

To me, talking with the top-level engineers is amazing~

One traditional life of a mature human is: marriage -> gave birth to a child -> raised up this child -> accepted the death of oneself. The last phase is peacefully and socially acceptable, human have been doing it for thousands of generation

One untraditional life of a mature human is: fetch a new-born AI -> raise up this AI -> have to die and the AI will live forever. The last phase is personally acceptable because you have to, but socially problematic because human would potentially phase out one day

AI technology is developing everyday, lonely ppl are everywhere, and business people are sniffing these opportunities~

So, humans need to work hard for longevity themselves, even under the help of AI, this would be the strange relationship between human and AI

To me, the true value of Blockchain is it concrete a personal trust system, just like gold did by human thousands of years ago and was destroyed by strong governments because of the weaknesses of itself

This value can push every single human join to compete with other trust systems such as governments and organizations, it would enormously increase the complexity of social diversity, a giant leap for humanity

Here in context, what is trust?

Trust is one entity that can keep something stable(statically or dynamically) for a very long time, this personal trust brought by Blockchain technology can help a lot to a free society, a thing with pros for democrats and cons for autocrats

We will see more and more ppl and small communities origin form per se can be deductively trusted in the near future~

If anything I want to keep with me from my Chinese background, that would be only this Chinese cuisine, I can forfeit my language and culture, but it is very difficult to stop eating Chinese food

I guess Chinese cuisine maybe is the strongest cuisine in the world, it is really better than most of the other cuisines in the world, I was quite lucky to be born with Chinese cuisine :)

I started to seriously learn Chinese cuisine this year, taught my nanny to cook Chinese food she had never done before, bought all kinds of ingredients and condiments and even talked about a Chinese restaurant in the Philippines

And learning Chinese cuisine also is an excellent way to learn English, new words, talk about food with other ppl, and make friends who also like Chinese cuisine, nice~

Read an article from a blog of Deepmind:

Just as maths is the perfect description language for physics, we believe AI might turn out to be just the right technique to cope with the dynamic complexity of biology.

This is the first time I realized AI is some kind of language, A high-level language based on mathematics, a language for extremely complexity

Just like it is too complicated to program an OS by assembly language, so needs the help of high-level language

So I have three languages to learn now: English, Math, AI, life is hard~ isn’t it :)
