How to stop bad habits?

It’s not easy to change, especially when you have a habit go with you for years, but if you still want to try, here is the my idea:

1. Prepare a lot of energy

If you got one month have nothing to do, definitely it would be easy to change a habit, but most people don’t have so many energy to do one thing, but still you need to prepare a lot of energy to defeat the struggle and fight the routing behavior you feel good for years

2. One minute meditation

Every time you trigger a behavior or thought you what to change, give yourself a one minute meditation, stop everything you are doing, feel the breath or deep thinking about it, just need one minute to give yourself a little negative feedback then go back to normal, this negative feedback is very important, and one minute meditation is very easy to go with

Plus: you can count how many meditation you have done, if count to 5, punish yourself 50 push ups, you can try any negative feedbacks you like, give your friend some gift or money is a good idea

3. one at a time

If you want to change your behaviors or thoughts, you’d better do it once at a time, energy is limited, so just focus on one behaviors or thoughts you want to change, let others(behaviors or thoughts) do what they want to do, you much guarantee you can change one, and the only one, create a trust to yourself, even a very small one

4. 30 days

one month is long enough for you to change, and after 30 days, you already totally forget the behavior and thoughts you regular have, it’s very important to hold the 30 days deadline, even though nothing happened in the last week, you new behaviors and thoughts still need time to solidify themselves, in case they sneak back one day you accidentally ignore
